The final deep dive from EA has been released and it reveals all the new additions coming to Career Mode in FC 25. Both Manager and Player Career modes are getting significant upgrades in what is the biggest update to the game mode in recent years.
Live Start Points & Snapshots
One of the most innovative features in FC 25 is the introduction of Live Start Points and Snapshots in Manager Career. These allow you to jump into managing top men's and women's teams from any gameweek during the 2024/2025 season. With Live Start Points available for 10 leagues and 12 cup competitions, you can take control of teams in real-time, reflecting the current standings, transfers, player form, injuries, and more.
Snapshots capture pivotal moments throughout the season, giving you the chance to alter the course of key events, such as managing a team after a big transfer or turning around an underperforming club. This dynamic feature keeps your Career Mode experience fresh and aligned with the real-world football calendar.
FC IQ and Tactical Presets
FC IQ takes tactical management to a new level, offering an expanded Tactical Preset system. Each preset includes Key Roles across the pitch and specific build-up and defensive strategies, adaptable to any formation. This system gives managers the ability to customise their team’s playing style more deeply, with the added influence of coaching staff on player role development.
Scouting for players now includes the option to search for specific roles or those suited for particular presets, making it easier to build a squad that fits your tactical vision.
Press Conferences & Morale Sweet Spot
The morale system in FC 25 has been refined to introduce a “sweet spot” for player morale. Instead of simply maximising morale, the new system rewards maintaining an optimal level to prevent players from becoming complacent.
Press conferences have also been upgraded to include more nuanced questions based on tactical choices, opponent setups, and match statistics, adding depth to your interactions with the media.
Youth Academy Enhancements
The Youth Academy has been significantly upgraded, offering scouting in over 160 countries and the ability to focus on specific positions and roles. New to FC 25 is the introduction of Rush matches, 5v5 tournaments that provide hands-on control over your youth players’ development. These bi-monthly tournaments can accelerate your prospects' growth, helping them reach their full potential faster.
Women’s Football Integration
For the first time in Manager Career, players can manage top women's teams from elite European leagues and the NWSL. This feature includes all the depth of Manager Career, with authentic contracts, financial models, and the flexibility to move between men’s and women’s leagues within the same career.
Customisation and New Menu Visuals
Customisation options in FC 25 have been expanded to give players more control over their Career Mode experience. Whether you want to simulate realistic gameplay or create a classic EA SPORTS FC experience, the new settings allow for detailed adjustments. The introduction of the Task List in the updated menu visuals ensures you stay on top of important managerial tasks.
Player Career with Icons and Origin Stories
Player Career in FC 25 introduces the ability to play as football icons, bringing legendary players into the modern game. Additionally, the new Origin Stories feature offers three distinct career paths, each with unique challenges and opportunities, allowing you to create a more personalised career experience. Enhanced player customisation options, including more detailed avatar creation and unique animations, further personalise your journey in Player Career.
With these additions, FC 25’s Career Mode is set to offer a new customisable experience for new and old players.
Development Plans 2.0
Development Plans have been revamped in FC 25, now driven by Player Roles and offering more targeted growth potential. Players will develop based on their assigned roles, with the possibility of unlocking new stages of growth as they progress. This updated system also includes contextual information on each player's growth stage, whether they’re in the prime of their career or nearing retirement, allowing for more strategic long-term planning.
Social Media
The addition of Social Media keeps you connected to the latest news and narratives surrounding your career from the likes of Fabrizio Romano and The Athletic.
